Camping Breakfast Hacks using Mason Jars

Mason Jar Camping Hacks

Camping is one of the most amazing experiences your family will ever share. Making it as easy and painless as possible in order to enjoy it to its fullest potential is something that a few food hacks can help with. A lot of people have never thought how convenient mason jars are to store food in for individual portions. They are healthy for the environment (since you can use them over and over) and easy to clean up.

If you spent four days in the forest and did not have to cook breakfast; you could utilize a lot more time doing the things you love. Here are a few ideas for breakfast meals you can pack ahead of time to enjoy nice no-cook mornings.

1) Oats, Greek Yogurt, Granola, Chia Seeds, and Fruit

If you layer and refrigerate these ahead of time, all you have to do is unpack them and they are ready to serve.

2) Refrigerator Oatmeal

If you mix roughly two and a half cups of oats with any of the above ingredients; you will have an easy healthy meal that is ready to eat once it is left in the fridge.

If you do not approve of any of the above foods to pair with oatmeal, you can prep the oatmeal and add anything from chili and garlic powder to Nutella and bananas to create a delicious oatmeal fusion.

3) Omelets

Cook everything ahead of time and place in mason jars. Warm jars up over the fire or sealed in hot water over a camping stove for a quick heat up. Cook the eggs and serve with cheese, peppers, ham, and bacon. Do not forget to bring a jar of homemade salsa.

4) Pancakes and Swedish Pancakes

With cooking pancakes you have two options: Cook everything ahead of time and put in jar or cook pancakes in jar ahead of time. You can use a mason jar and cook pancakes in the microwave. Remember to pack the maple syrup and cooked apples.

5) Canned Goods Throughout the Season

Peaches, pears, plums, salsa, spaghetti sauce can all be served while in the woods for a quick morning meal or daytime snack.

There are so many camping hacks to make an easy and fun trip for all members of the family. Being green is also a very important lifestyle so people are not denied the opportunity one day to enjoy the beautiful world around us.
